Alice the torn of his birth the novel portrays a XHosa royal family past its prime and glory. piggyboysblues is written by the incredible Nakhane Toure The novel begins as Davide arrives at the home of his uncle Ndimphiwe in Alice for a brief stay And he meets Gray his uncle s lover Gray develops an amorous interest to Davide Although the presence of Gray created tension The pattern and relationship lines of the characters was interesting It emphasized why Davide was there he was there to find himself and his sexuality Something most of us can relate to is trying to figure out the balance between our sexuality and spirituality whether can the two coincide And for Davide the answer is clear at the endThe prose is interesting and also very weak distorted with disjointed scenesThe author is an incredible writer since the inception of this book he was younger and I think now as writer he might have grown and can make this book even better If given a chance tooI loved the themes of discovering some sentences I fell for and writing about ueer characters with problems faced by everyone and anyone That I appreciated Also the most unbelievable beautiful part in Piggy Boy s Blues is the depiction of a rape scene It captured how the mind leaves the body in the act of violence Unforgettable scene My heart leaped outThis showed me that the writer is a brilliant writer but then what is missing this bookSimple It needed rigorous editing sessions The story was somewhere in the tiles It needed probing to shine those gems There was however unnecessary words that block the reader from engaging with the work The was of the writer than the readerThe book could have been meatier than what it was Some transitions didn t complement the following scenesThe book had many loop holes in scenes some scenes were incomplete and character development was weak Ndimphiwe is almost silent even when he realize his nephew was assaulted and always hidden behind a wall also some characters were introduced but kept wondering why and who they are Like Skhumbuzo what was his deal What are your thoughts
